Does optimization of conversion rates for SaaS and other software different from traditional A/B testing for Ecommerce?

Does it just aim to get people to click the "buy" option (like the E-commerce site)? Or is there more to this?

I sat down with the growth expert (and the current director at Growth for Planday) Frederic Linfjard and asked him what he thought regarding these concerns.
