The Stellantis platform is powering endless learning with video
With a global workforce over 300,000. Stellantis is the maker of names like Peugeot, Fiat, and Chrysler recognizes the importance of scaling, well, just about every aspect. "We rank among the top five automobile makers in the world," declares Phil Price, Head of The Performance Academy, Stellantis. "As the development and learning area grew, we quickly realized that it's everything about the training we give our workers to boost their performance." So, The Performance Academy was created.
The headquarters are in the auto capital of England The folks from The Performance Academy produce thousands of hours of educational content to Stellantis employees. However, to keep up with their ever-growing employee base they required a repeatable system to communicate data with their teams around all over the world. "We've been spending a lot of time studying how people want to learn," says Phil. "Video-based virtual instruction is the way to go."
An active member of the community for nearly 10 years, the team is always aware of the benefits of videos. To that end, Stellantis has shifted their focus on in-person training to an entirely online approach. "With face-to-face instruction, you have to replicate the experience 10 times and pay the expense of 10 different costs," he says. "With video, there is no limit."
Unrestricted learning
"We have on average, about 350 hours of resources available during a day," notes Phil. "Behind that 35 hours of content, we've have tens of thousands of hours of content we've established and developed over the last 12 years."
The content catalog means every employee can learn what they want to learn at the times and places that work for them. "Our classes are available 24 hours a day," he adds. "That's vital, since we see people doing the training on their own schedules since they're aware they'll increase their personal performance."
Powerhouse productions
Now, The Performance Academy is expanding to live streaming on a daily basis, from sales trainings to board-level communication. For this to happen, The Performance Academy has continued to invest into their production capabilities which is a miniature Hollywood studio in the heart of Coventry, England.
"Look at where we're right now," says Phil. "We're in our own studio. We're in our own ability to create an overlay and create anything we'd like to. Everything you be able to see in a film is now possible to do with The Performance Academy."
Partners for growth
Now empowered with professional production tools as well as a seasoned group of L&D specialists, The Performance Academy uses the power of production, hosting and share their works. "As the development and learning sector has grown, it The Performance Academy has been developing the methods of delivery, model and reports," says Phil. "We've really benefited from that."
" As an organisation, we're thinking about, 'How do we make this work great and offer it to an customer?' One of the advantages we work with is that we're in control," notes Phil. "It's an affirmation of capacity, the right partners appropriate team members, and right ideas for what the future looks like."
