Rebecca Bryan is a quilter and writer, as well as the owner who is the creator of Bryan House Quilts. Rebecca Bryan has revolutionized the fabric industry by creating a distinctive fabric line and thread selection, while offering in-person classes in quilting. In the beginning of her career, Rebecca sought out the easiest way to support her family while also finding ways to work on the projects she enjoys. Find out why switching to an online subscription-based service is going to give Rebecca peace of mind financially with the security she desired.

Why did you decide to be involved in Information commerce?

My quilting career began when I published my debut publication, Contemporary Rainbow Quilts. Then, I began giving classes at quilt shows as well as guilds throughout all over the United States. I expanded my workshops with the publication to my book 2: Contemporary Triangle Quilts.

After that, my husband accepted the job he was offered and relocated our family of four kids aged school-age to the Netherlands. The location of our family in the Netherlands meant that it was impossible to go back to the US for instruction immediately!

I'd been thinking about hosting my classes online but this decision provided me with the push I required.

What was the first product you digitally created? What was the motivation behind why that led you to decide to make it available?

In the beginning of my adventure with my latest business, I chose to launch with a workshop that I taught with my Modern Triangle Quilts book "Design Improv using Triangles". My course will instruct the students by guiding them through interactive activities that end in their creation of personal Modern Triangle quilt blocks. The reason I selected this workshop was that this was my first time I was teaching my latest book and I realized the extent to which the online course could be in comparison to a traditional three-hour or six-hour live-in class. (See for yourself the Equilateral Sampler Quilt, pictured in Rockport, Mass.)

Do you have additional specifics about your training session that were in a one-time purchase?

I truly enjoyed the entire online experience I offered to my students. One thing I noticed was the joy I had the teaching experience using Zoom cameras and camera. It's difficult to explain how (painfully!) my camera shyness used be however, showing that I was in the room for my lesson was quite gratifying. In addition, I had the chance to meet my students over a night of sharing even although it was virtual. All of it was delightful!

In the following months, I decided offering more online classes which began with a strategy for the entire year. Quilting is a process that we call these blocks "Blocks of the Month" Each month we come up with the new block collection to quilt, and then at the end each year we put the quilt blocks in order to finish our quilt. Woohoo! (See Rainbow Remix, my 2018 BOM.)

What led you to design a subscription-based product?

The number of my "Block of the Month" programs increased to three I realized I could provide my students with greater satisfaction and value by keeping all of my "Modern Triangle" projects within the same category. In March 2020, I announced the opening of "Make Modern Triangles", the official club that assists quilters to design concepts, designing and finishing blocks that are blockbuster contemporary triangle quilts.

The members have the choice of picking the specific tasks they want to complete and appreciate my advice and guidance as well as being motivated by the desire to "bust the blocks" while working with other quilters across the world. This "Triangle Chatter" community is a total pleasure! Everyday I am amazed how far our project has progressed and images of the achievements made by our community members.

How have the clients respond to your offering?

     Favorably, I'd say!

Block of the Month Block of the Month products are a fantastic program to create in my role as an educator. The whole thing is a real component of the group, and the anticipation of the next challenge as well as the anticipation of watching the piles of blocks grow; the commiseration whenever the plan fails The joy that comes from completing every stage and the excitement of shouting "ta you're da!" together! This is all wonderful and part of the camaraderie that we share in a collective.

What have you learned since starting your subscription , which you then take to heart when managing your business?

Oh my. One of the main lessons I've learned is that I make lots of tasks on my own. This is why I'm always trying to find ways to make things simpler.

When I first started my company, one of my goals was the possibility to contribute to family financial support, without having to find an "real" occupation. My first venture began at the time my children were young and I hoped that my income would grow by the same amount as an "real" occupation.

I wanted to establish an entity that would allow me to work at least 25% of my time at my computer, while also working in my sewing room.

A teacher who enjoys teaching it was easy for me to become lost in the quilts that I created and later wrote an entire book about it. It's not difficult to see this gave me lots of things to do! It actually forced me to step away from my sewing space as well as my main objective.

To simplify the process and simplify things, I'm now focused (mostly!) in my account. I've cut everything down to one deal.

What effect did the introduction of the subscription service online can have on your business?

By reducing the clutter and focus on building my network my business has increased by 50percent over the last 3 years (thanks for those delicious and delicious statistics!). The result has been successful in building a business that will support my family, and also one that is disconnected from my laptop. I am able to write designs and create art.

It's so relaxing. I feel great about my products that I'm offering my clients. I am enthralledwatching my clients create. Additionally, I feel happier. I'm safe. The peace of mind brings relief to my head. Although it's not perfect, I am aware of what I'm creating and the ways I can make it better and see how it will expand and evolve during the next two years.

As a member I feel less stressed. Most of the time I can see my business's annual revenue. I don't mind that I need to train everyone on the that I'm studying or create an item I'm going to sell. My primary concern worried about is giving amazing details and connections to my family and friends as well as developing myself. Plus, I can remain available and capable of taking excellent take care of my loved ones.

How did you get the desired outcomes?

My aim was and is always about simplifying the process so it was the ideal decision. It's not difficult to have an online company get complicated within several days. It's a great way to simplify my life, and I'm available to help you. Everything I'm looking for is contained in it, with the exception of a few other programs (from previous times that I didn't use ) I strictly make use of.

Do you have any advice for any other people thinking of starting an online business based on subscriptions?

Make sure you are able to work hard on your "Beta" version and maintain the version you have chosen to call "Beta" to a long duration than you believe it is necessary to. I wished I'd kept mine in beta mode longer. Based on the experience you've had, identify the things which work and move your experience to the next level. Spend a long time improving and enhancing what elements are performing. Keep it simple and stay at the top of simplicity. Begin your beta right now as the more time you sit longer, the more complex it gets!

is the best way of turning your knowledge to income
