Painting and installation work - The CreativeMindClass Blog
Nicole Mueller is a San Francisco-based visual artist. Her work includes large-scale paintings, murals, and installations inspired by the look from stained glass. Inspiring by the process these abstract paintings are highly saturated, built with layers of collage-like shapes. Her art explores the variety of colors, states in flux, dichotomies inside painting, the change of existence, as well as the threshold between interior and exterior, both tangible and intangible.
About my background
I'm mostly a painter being a full-time an artist in San Francisco, California.
My experience also covers painting murals, installation work, as well as working in the field of arts administration as well as professional development.
I took art classes at MICA. Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore which is where I lived for several years prior to moving towards on the West coast.

Another big part of my job and purpose revolves around co-hosting Beyond the Studio with my fellow artist Amanda Adams, a podcast designed to promote visibility in the world of art through interviews with other modern artists on their professional pathways.
My personal fashion
My work is mostly intuitive that is driven by process. abstract and highly saturated made of color and layers of collage-like forms.
I make large-scale paintings, light-activated window installations to mimic the visual effects of stained glass and murals. Through this series I'm exploring dichotomies and states of flux, and the line between the external and interior, and the tangible and the intangible.

About the key to making my art
I think that showing up regularly at your work is essential. For me, developing a studio practice as well as setting goals for myself to keep moving forward has helped me prioritize my time when life gets in the way. Also, taking the time to slow down to rest or even take breaks (for a day, a month, or longer).
