Although many children get an early entrepreneurial start through selling snacks to their neighbors, Morgan Hipworth took his young interest in food up a notch. The young founder behind popular Australian bakery, Bistro Morgan, developed a love of food via cooking programs when he was just seven years old.

"I saw other youngsters watching on television pursuing their goals, and then I was thinking to myself: 'If they can do it, then I can also achieve it,'" Morgan says. And he turned that belief into action "Each weekend, I would cook three courses for my family and parents offering my culinary creations at the table of my family," he says. "I later extended my customer base to the extended family, offering freshly baked sweet treats to celebrate birthdays or other events." As a teenager, he was encouraged by an eatery in the area. He was also responsible for its supplies of sweets and baked goods.

Let your customers be part of the brand's story

"Being able to tell an engaging story that really brings customers along for the ride has been a fundamental element of developing a loyal customer base," he says. "Connection is the first priority, and is the factor that turns a once-in-a-lifetime customer into a loyal customer who will remain loyal to you for the rest of their lives."
