Skateboarder and community organizer Briana King puts their passion for their sport and community over all else. Building a career out of the passions of these two has come natural for Briana because, as they explain to me "I've been doing everything for passion and enjoyment, not simply because I wanted it to be a job of any sort."
Discover how Briana leverages its website and social media channels to remain connected with their skateboarding community both offline and online.
The creation of community by means of products
For Briana the website displays all the aspects of their business all in one location including skate events, merchandise to purchase, and connects to their vibrant group of fans on social media.
"It gives me an outlet to show my projects and my future meetups," Briana says of their website, "but it also motivates me to look into innovative ways to think about ideas."
One of these concepts was the idea of launching their store online that will sell products related to skateboarding. Briana believes that these items are yet another method of connecting with their customers--by offering their people in the community "something that makes them smile or makes them smile."
Briana has also hired an acquaintance who skateboards to oversee the e-commerce business. "I believe we need to be a part of the community in any way we can. Everything I ever do goes back to my community."
