How would you describe your personal style?
It's somewhere between stylized as well as realistic fantasy illustration. I use a lot of colors that are muted and watery and prefer to use organic, flowing shapes. I believe that my "style" as a fantasy illustrator is heavily determined by my colors and what subject matter that I decide to paint, and not necessarily the way it is painted. I previously worked in a much more line-oriented approach, however I've moved to a looser and more expressive style.

What's the secret in creating your artworks of fantasy?
I'm constantly re-examining them until the image appears to be closest to what I envision the image in my mind (within reason, otherwise I'd be able to spend months working on one painting). I strive to make my designs more complex to create a mediocre picture. I'd rather take lots of time to get the perfect fantasy image than rush through it.

What are the best places to show the fantasy drawings you've created?
I'll be participating in the coming "Oceans and Currents" show at Gallery Nucleus on July 1st! While you wait, you can find me through Instagram. I do sell prints through my store Bandcamp if anyone would be curious!
Also, I have a YouTube as well as Bandcamp for those interested in my work since I'll be releasing more songs very soon.

Brigitte's Background
I graduated at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and I work currently in the entertainment art industry as conceptual artist and illustrator. I also have an ongoing artistic project, known as Pearl Farm in which I create drawings. I write, as well as perform original songs.
The illustrations for the article come of my own project Pearl Farm. The story is my own, it follows a traveling singer known as Vinny along with her pet Ray Hubble when they journey their way across the world called the Lofty Coastline.
