Digital illustration process - The CreativeMindClass Blog
If I am free, I enjoy doing 30-minute-hour studies or explorations where I can do whatever want to do the day. It has helped me grow, but it also helped find what sort of things I was interested in.

Today, I am able to focus on color, light, and how to explain textures in a simple way so that I don't need to be too detailed in every aspect. My preference is to keep my shapes pretty close to real life However, as time goes on, I'm hoping to expand my shapes and become more artistic with my work.
When I start a painting, usually I prefer to sketch the main forms at first, whether in BW or straight in colors. If I think it's essential, I start with linework first. After I've established a good base I like to map on the light and shadow shapes onto separate layers. Not until then do I draw or paint it, usually going from big to small particulars.

For Streets of London painting I used a similar process. To create neat edges and keep everything organized I used a lot of layers. Additionally, I had the main light on a separate layer.
The layers make me worry less about making mistakes. But when I'm comfortable with the stage I'm in with the painting I start merging a few aspects, while keeping only those things that I believe are essential.

Colours for me are very often a "feel" factor, so I go with what feels right. There are a variety of references which I use to help me get the right colours, sometimes I blend references but others I use only just one.
It's definitely beneficial to learn about color and light theory to know the limits you could do to help make the overall colour palette and values stronger.

I think it's difficult to pinpoint what the key to making my art is... I just like to explore different styles, mediums as well as subject matter and be inspired by others artists.
It's still early on my artistic journey that I continue to try to discover my identity as an artist, and what my style is. One of the main differences in my life is that I don't really worry about it nearly as much as I used to and I believe that's made significant changes.
My Personal Background
Hello, my name's Bjork and I'm a visual artist. I'm currently working in the field of Concept Art for games.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in CG arts at The Animation workshop in Viborg, Denmark, in 2019 and began my first position in London in the following year.
Today, I'm mostly being a concept designer with Envar Studios but also do occasionally freelance work.
In general, I'm more active on Twitter rather than the Instagram platform. For those who want to buy prints I sell prints on Instagram.
