Control over Community-related notifications -- for you and
We've updated community notification settings to create a better member experience (and fewer email messages). Here's what's new.
How do you notify members about what's happening within your local community?
It is important to inform your customers know about new conversations and engage them in discussions more often But you need to give your members the ability to control their experience and limit the amount of notifications they receive. We also learned from our founders about how crucial it is to find this careful balanced.
The latest version of the community feature which allows you to and your friends are more in control of messages. That means livelier discussions, no more flooded inboxesand a social platform that brings both of you to each other.
Control your own notification settings as a creator member
Creators and community members can now choose which notifications they would like to receive on the same topic: Posts that are new, new replies to posts you've made, and/or new replies to your posts.
Once you have logged into the community you are a part of, go to Settings and then click "Edit" in the Notifications. (Creators are able to find this on the Notifications tab in your account Settings.)

There are a variety of subjects that you're following in the community. You can simply check or uncheck boxes that control the kinds of messages you'd like to receive for the specific subject.

As an example, you could prefer to be notified of updates, comments, or responses in an area that is time-sensitive such as Live Events or Announcements. If you are interested in other subjects, you may want to be only notified when someone makes the post, or deactivate announcements for that subject completely.
You can also quickly toggle the notifications off and on by clicking "Mute all" as well as "Unmute All".
In addition, you can alter your notifications per-topic quickly from on the "All topics"page or an individual page for each topic. Click the bell icon, then choose your preferred notification settings.

Set default notifications for a topic
Creators can also set the default notifications settings for every topic in your community, giving you more control over how members experience.
Instead of sending out notification emails to members of your organization for each post in every topic, you can choose which areas your members will be notified about and which kinds of notifications they get.
Here's how:
From the Community tab on your dashboard, click on "All Topics". Then, click the "..." next to the topic you'd like to modify and then select "Edit the topic". There, you can select the settings for your notifications under "Default notification settings".

Users can alter these notifications settings at any point for their accounts. If they haven't modified their settings, they will default to the settings that were set by the author of each subject.

We're hoping these updates to the community provide a better experience to both you and your fellow members. We appreciate your time!
